there were versions where it would end at 20 or 25 (which take little to no time at all to hit once you are around level 15). the original gb and nes versions are still the best to date. Loved both TMNT and Top Gun on NES.
Always had problems with Ghosts and Goblins (the original - either NES or Sega). The jumping was really wonky and made it horribly hard.
I second Tyson. Also, I don't know anyone who ever got past a couple levels of Top Gun on NES.
My Top Gun pilot career consisted of killing 5000 Migs, and crashing into the aircraft carrier at the end.
