Where are Americans moving interactive map (1 Viewer)

I know this is making this political, but in case you were wondering, compare the movement to the 2000 electoral map:

Orleans Parish is predominately black. I thought New Orleans was the number 1 dying city!?!?!

Wow check out Clark County, southern tip of NV (Las Vegas)

WOW! The 5 boroughs of NYC are crazy red. Most going to Atlanta or Florida. Not necessarily a shock of where they went, but how many is surprising.

You're not going to see a lot of movement out since, the majority of people that were in New Orleans to begin 2008 had decidely returned to the city just 2 years ago or less. On top of that, you still had a ton of people moving back to the city after Katrina in 2008. As far as it being a dying city, today it still isn't close to its pre-Katrina population.

very surprised to see the inflow/outflow b/w orleans and st tammany parishes.

About even.
I would never have guessed that.

I think snow birds are skewing the numbers. There are a lot of retirees from the north that move to Florida (or another Southern state without state income tax) and claim residency. But, they still maintain a home up north.
