Bunkley was an absolute stud for Denver in the 3-4. Hicks will likely play DE opposite of Cam.

The one thing i do know, is that Tez and Juneyah should excel in this scheme, and i cannot wait to see what they can do!!

I hope Hicks does play DE I think he would be a beast at that position. But I think we need to acquire a true NT either through FA or the draft.

Saw this on Rotoworld:

The New Orleans Times-Picayune names Martez Wilson and Junior Galette as two defenders likeliest to benefit from the Saints' move to a 3-4.

Wilson, a linebacker at Illinois, flashed with three sacks as a nickel pass rusher in 2012 and at 6-foot-4, 252, is built like a 3-4 outside linebacker. Galette, who goes 6-foot-2, 258, racked up five sacks in a rotational role. It's conceivable that Galette and Wilson could open the 2013 season as New Orleans' bookend outside rushers with Cam Jordan and Akiem Hicks on the ends.

235 is pretty undersized for a 34 OLB

Good question.

I am hearing more talk of Hicks at DE than DT. I too have questions about whether Bunkley is big enough to last at DT. I am thinking we will need a bigger DT, two more linebackers, and on the back end a free safety so we can move Jenkins to strong safety.

Especially if we lose our second round pick in the 2013 draft, I think with our cap issues this transition is going to take two years.

Why? Tez doesn't really fit for the inside which is why switching to a 3-4 is great for him, because he can actually be utilized to the best of his ability. Dude is perfect for a outside rusher in a 3-4. Both him and Gallete have to be super pumped for this change, their pt will increase a ton. SP had to be taking these two guys into consideration when deciding to switch to a 3-4.

I'm already sick and tired of uninformed people saying Bunk doesn't fit in the 3-4. It was 2 years ago that he ranked as the #1 run stopping DT in the league, lining up over the center (3-4 NT position).

As good as he is, the team still needs depth at the position as he was not an every down player in Denver. We need a rotation of quality tackles as they are the anchor of those defenses.
