My wife is looking for a job, and has pretty much decided to not stay in Nashville (amazing place for the record). We want to move to N.O. But the odds are probably 10%. An opportunity in Baton Rouge has come along for her, and it will likely have the highest pay for the least amount of work (where we go will not affect me professionally). Since we are not staying in Nashville, I want to move back to LA. We have family in BR and NOLA, so it really is probably BR.

Anyway, where should we be looking? I'm an LSU fan, so the lakes seem cool, but there are not a lot of homes and few are within our price range (most are 7 figures!). What are some other good places. We aren't going to use the public school system so that won't matter. Thanks!

This is nonsensical. It is like asking if God can create a rock so big he can't life it. Can there be a square circle?

If I had to live anywhere in Baton Rouge I'd say around the Garden District Downtown area. But really it all sucks. Only thing that Baton Rouge has I miss is Whataburger.

Lived in both BR and NO for a number of years. Not trying to diss either cities but seriously they both are hot spot for criminals. Heck I'm currently living in Htown and it's not much better either.

All kidding aside, this is such a broad statement so as to be made meaningless. As in any metro area, neighborhood is important.

I used to live in Tiger Plaza, right off LSU's campus ... My apartment was right behind Mikes.

Don't live there. It's ******* loud. You can't sleep. Unless it's Sunday.

Oh, what's that? The bars are open on Sunday now?

Yea, just don't ******* live by Tigerland.

The rest of BR? Not that bad if you like Chili's and chain joints.

I've been in BR all weekend for a wedding, I can tell you one thing, the traffic sucks. Much worse than metro New Orleans. I don't know if it's because of the layout of the town, traffic signals or the people here just can't drive.

It's not a broad statement at all. You can pretty much drive 5-8 mins in any direction in NO or BR and you could end up in a bad area. I don't care what neighborhood you live in it's just a matter of fact.
