I'm heading down to Grand Isle for a kayak fishing trip tomorrow, and am considering doing a bit of fishing on my own afterward before heading back home. I've got an ugly stik... thinking about tossing it around in the surf somewhere, or off of a bridge. Anyone have any pointers on good spots I could try? Mainly interested in redfish, but specks would do as well.

Elmers island surf can be very prductive, and u can drive on the beach. Alot of times they are just out of casting reach, your yak could remedy that

Well it ended up being too rough and windy to kayak, so we went out on a boat instead. Launched at Caminada Pass and ended up catching four 25-30 lb bull reds (which is what we were targeting) and a 25 lb Jack Crevalle. Really fun day of fishing.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to surf fish, because a huge storm rolled in right when we finished our trip. Oh well, next time!
