probably has little to do with race which is the dems baseline and more about the message , hence the use of "Uncle Tom" phrase by some dems when referring to black people who voice opposing views of the democratic echo chamber

Which is also why dems assume all blacks don't agree with Clarke due to race and not message

Though I agree applying BLM to the rescue efforts is misapplied , rescue efforts like this are about true community and not the political narrative some people and vast majority of the politicians and media believe everyone conduct their daily lives around .

Well he has declared multiple parishes disaster areas allowing them to sign up for aid even if they did not have insurance. As for him going to these places as of now he wants the police to focus on rescue efforts rather then him coming here and having to provide security. So far seems to be running much smoother tha Bush and Brownie.

In all seriousness, why would it be expected that a group that formed around concerns about police misconduct involving black citizens shift their focus to something outside of that scope?

You're right, it was formed in 2012 after George Zimmerman was acquitted in the death of Trayvon Martin, and has gained ongoing recognition through high-profile incidents of alleged police brutality.

Its mission goes "beyond extrajudicial killings of Black people by police and vigilantes".

What Does #BlackLivesMatter Mean?

When we say Black Lives Matter, we are broadening the conversation around state violence to include all of the ways in which Black people are intentionally left powerless at the hands of the state. We are talking about the ways in which Black lives are deprived of our basic human rights and dignity.
