Which players will climb draft boards postseason? (1 Viewer)

I think 2 guys from Wisconsin rise
Watt, LB
Fumagali, TE

LSU has a few as well that should move up boards.

Riley, LB
Neal, DE
Godchaux, DT

Sadly, I see T. White moving down a little due to his botches in the return game. Before that part of his game completely fell apart, I wanted him in B&G. Kind of a 2nd or 3rd round homegrown Adoree Jackson.

Solomon Thomas is going in the top 10. I've seen a draft analyst compare his tap to JJ Watt.

I'd be thrilled to land him or Mckinley in the first.

I can see Thomas getting top 10 if he tests well. That would make 4 dlineman that I think are locks for top 10 Garrett, Allen, Barnett, and Thomas if they test well which I think they will. Also I think 2 QBs go which makes 4 more players. LF7 I bet will go as well. Mckinnely is a freak that wins off pure athleticism and effort if someone teaches that man technique he could be the next D. Ware, his potential is that high. I wouldnt mind him at 11 if he shows out at the Senior Bowl.

Solomon Thomas please.

Someone earlier mentioned they would rather have a speed guy opposite Cam.....

Solomon is that highly rare mix of tremendous power with crazy speed.

And his hands?

When he touches a jersey, it's like a grizzly bear getting a hold of you. He throws people down viciously.

And as far as character, he's a self proclaimed home body-star wars geek.

He would be perfect for what we are building.

Checks all the boxes.

Pass Rusher...check

Freak Athlete...check

Versitile...check

Strong Character...check

A few scouts are projecting him to run a 4.58 40 yard dash. If that happens he will be picked in the top 5.

Solomon Thomas plays like 'smaller version' of J.J. Watt - NFL.com

Solomon Thomas is flying up. He'll likely go in the top 15, if he tests well. Personally, I don't want the Saints to draft him though. He could be great, don't get me wrong, but I'd prefer a speed rusher opposite Cam.

I expect the Alabama players not named Tim Williams to fall a bit. Once Alabama players are isolated, you often see holes poked into their games. I think Williams is an exception, because he's essentially a specialist and pure pass rushers are always a draft premium. Jonathan Allen is still likely a top 10 pick, but some evaluators are currently seeing him as the #1 2017 prospect, which I expect to change.

Adoree Jackson is a guy that's going to rise. He'll blow up the combine and his tape is great. A round 2 grade will not stick.

I expect Deshaun Watson to go first overall. Everyone seems to think the Browns are set on Garrett. I don't think so. If there's one strength to that Cleveland team, its a youthful but talented pass rush. You can't win without a QB, and though Watson has been a turnover machine, his raw ability and arm make him a great prospect. Once evaluators see him in workouts and the process takes off, he'll be coveted. I see this ending up like Cam/Von in 2011.

Derek Barnett is getting mocked outside the top 10, but I think he'll go top 5. He will test well, has elite production and plays a premium position.
I'm not big on taking cornerbacks in the first, but adoree would be an elite deception. Excellent CB with great athleticism and ball skills. Also an outstanding return man and can play WR.

I don't think White falls in draft because of return game. Teams want to know if he can cover WRs more than anything (which he can). The return game is a plus if he is good at it but not make or break for him as a top CB. They might argue size or something, but return game won't drop him in draft if teams feel he's one of the best at the position.

Is Derek Barnett fast? I was thinking his 40 time would be good, though not special.

Doubt it. If you watch any of his tape, you'll see it. He's often the last person to react after the snap.

Helluva player though. Just has a slow get-off.

As a die hard Razorback fan, I don't know if I want anyone on that team this year. Wanted Sprinkle before his shoplifting episode, now I want him as far away from NO as possible. Going into the year I was expecting big time sack numbers for Wise. He's a specialist like Tim Williams, but he didn't produce. Injuries could have been a factor like you said, but I don't know if he's worth consideration before round 4-5

You were right Hogs. Wise went to the Pats in round 4, pick 25. But I'm right a little bit too, because pundits (at that time of this thread) had him round 6, 7, or UDFA. We both win.

Two more defensive ends that I think are undervalued on most draft boards at the moment. I expect both to go higher than advertised.

1. Daeshon Hall
2. Tanoh Kpassagnon

  • Hall went in the 3rd
  • Kpassagnon went in the 2nd
Remember at the time of this thread, both were 5th rounders - at best.

Reviving an old thread. Hogs and I were going back and forth about which sleepers were undervalued on the draft boards. We've had 3 years now to see how our predictions panned out.

Deatrich Wise was my sleeper. Most boards had him as an UDFA, or 6th rounder at best. New England took him in the 4th, and he's been a reserve ( sometimes starter) for all three years of his career. Bottom line is he made it. He's been solid, made the team, and been part of one of the best defenses in the league.
  • I was right that Deatrich Wise Jr. was way undervalued at 6,7, or UDFA
  • Hogs was right that he wouldn't go before the 4th or 5th round.
Career bio below.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS
Deatrich Wise, Jr. was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round (131st overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.
