Every year the grade on a few players goes substantially higher because of the Senior Bowl, the combine, and pro-day workouts. Who will those players be in 2017?

Because of our needs, I am interested in seeing how Takkarist McKinley and Solomon Thomas do. And I believe Christian McCaffrey is going to test better than some on this forum think.

I think it's going to be McKinley. I haven't watched any UCLA games this year, but I did research when I saw his name mentioned
in numerous threads. Online scouting reports can be all over the place as you probably know. McKinley's are pretty consistent. He's solid
against the run and pass. He also has a relentless motor. He doesn't take a play off.

PFF has him ranked as the the top Senior at his position. Just a hunch on mt part, but I believe he'll get picked before Tim Williams.
The only two I see going before him are Garett and Barnett.

Solomon Thomas is flying up. He'll likely go in the top 15, if he tests well. Personally, I don't want the Saints to draft him though. He could be great, don't get me wrong, but I'd prefer a speed rusher opposite Cam.

I expect the Alabama players not named Tim Williams to fall a bit. Once Alabama players are isolated, you often see holes poked into their games. I think Williams is an exception, because he's essentially a specialist and pure pass rushers are always a draft premium. Jonathan Allen is still likely a top 10 pick, but some evaluators are currently seeing him as the #1 2017 prospect, which I expect to change.

Adoree Jackson is a guy that's going to rise. He'll blow up the combine and his tape is great. A round 2 grade will not stick.

I expect Deshaun Watson to go first overall. Everyone seems to think the Browns are set on Garrett. I don't think so. If there's one strength to that Cleveland team, its a youthful but talented pass rush. You can't win without a QB, and though Watson has been a turnover machine, his raw ability and arm make him a great prospect. Once evaluators see him in workouts and the process takes off, he'll be coveted. I see this ending up like Cam/Von in 2011.

Derek Barnett is getting mocked outside the top 10, but I think he'll go top 5. He will test well, has elite production and plays a premium position.

Deatrich Wise Jr.

Defensive end for the Razorbacks. He's healthy for the first time this year (broken hand/separated shoulder). I expect him to climb from the 7th round to day 2. He's playing in the Shrine game.

As a die hard Razorback fan, I don't know if I want anyone on that team this year. Wanted Sprinkle before his shoplifting episode, now I want him as far away from NO as possible. Going into the year I was expecting big time sack numbers for Wise. He's a specialist like Tim Williams, but he didn't produce. Injuries could have been a factor like you said, but I don't know if he's worth consideration before round 4-5

This thread is about who will climb. Wise is my candidate. We'll see.

I am not a Razorbacks fan. But Wise was awesome last year. His 2015 film was excellent, his game against LSU was excellent, and his father played for the Saints in 1989.

This year, Wise broke his right hand in the first game of the season. Then he separated his shoulder. He refused to sit out (against the advice of his coaches). So they rotated him as a backup defensive tackle.

Now that he's healthy for the first time this year, I expect him to return to form.

Actually, this is probably a great place to share this. I found this guy's blog the other day, and he breaks down his film grades for several players. It was a pretty interesting read. He did a breakdown of his metric All-Americans that I think will show players who will test well at their combine/pro day, and have a good chance to rise quickly.

Especially players like Amba Etta-Tawo, the wide receiver from Syracuse.

As most of you who are familiar with my work, I do a lot of analytical studies. Whether it’s measuring age, athleticism or production of NFL prospects.

And this year, I felt the spark to create a list of All-Americans based entirely on numbers. One, because it has never been done before to my knowledge.

And two, because it would be a good way to raise questions about who should really be an All-American. Lots of superficial factors sway how people feel about college players.

So an objective measure of performance like this could be helpful in illuminating underappreciated prospects. And take away some of the superficial factors such as the school a player plays on, or random hype generated from one big game on the national stage.

Rasul Douglas, Cornerback from West Virginia.

Rasul is the one that plays the 3-3-5 defense, correct? He's 6'1" to 6'3" based on which scouting report one reads. Very interesting prospect. I've seen him mocked up to round 3.

PFF had him on their "risers" list two months ago.

Solomon Thomas is going in the top 10. I've seen a draft analyst compare his tap to JJ Watt.

I'd be thrilled to land him or Mckinley in the first.

I loved watching Etta-Tawo this season. I'll be watching him close in the senior bowl and the combine. Looks a lot like Doctson last year.

Two more defensive ends that I think are undervalued on most draft boards at the moment. I expect both to go higher than advertised.

1. Daeshon Hall
2. Tanoh Kpassagnon

.

I disagree. I think that Tim Williams will see the biggest fall out of all of the Alabama defenders despite the fact he's a very good pass rusher.
He has major character concerns from what I've read and I saw one site that compared him to Randy Gregory

I was under the impression that his only issue was the gun arrest, which seemed to be an ignorance of different state laws in Alabama versus Louisiana. But I could be wrong.

This is an excerpt from a very recent mock draft that had Williams falling to the end of round 2.

We've learned of some glaring off-the-field issues regarding Williams, so if you're searching for a comparison, think Randy Gregory's fall a couple of years ago. However, some team will take a shot on Williams because of his immense talent level
