This can be a team from any sport or league. I only have knowledge about the NFL, NBA and MLB.

I was listening to Cowherd today on way to Austin to visit wife. He did an analysis on why Burrow is paramount to the Bengals franchise survival. He stated the past few years they are dead last in attendance. If the NFL got rid of that franchise no one would care. That topic made me think and inspired this thread.

In the NFL I'll go with Jax and Cincy. They don't contribute much to the NFL. They merely take up space, players and dilute the talent pool in the NFL.

In MLB going to go with Tampa and Miami. Same reason as above. With it being baseball no one definitely cares.

In the NBA going to go with Sacramento and Minnesota. These two franchises are basketball graveyards. Ownership doesn't seem to care about making these teams good. From what I gather their respective towns could not care less about these teams.

This is merely hypothetical. We know the player unions for those respective sports would never allow for this to happen.

I would like to know what the rest of you think especially the out of country whodats.

I would love to see all pro sports adopt the relegation model- if 2-3 teams per year drop below a certain threshold they drop down to the top ‘minor’ league and those top teams get promoted
I was just thinking that. It would make for fiercer competition. It would disincentivize tanking. Tanking is complete baloney.

Also fan bases
Owners would be doing everything to get the both good/minor & bad/major teams’ fan bases hyped and in the stands at the end of the season

I believe the Saints and Bengals should be the only two teams.

And they should play each other in the Super Bowl every week.

And Burrow starts for the Saints after Drew retires.

And Shakira does every halftime show.

Is there an example of this contraction happening in recent history?
Minnesota Twins were close in 2001 as were the Montreal Expos in that same era.

Edit, The Expos situation was so Dire Major League Baseball intervened and bought them. If N.O hornets were bought by the NBA, those are the only two teams I can think of where such a situation occurred.

Thank you.

But you will get annoyed with me soon enough.

Everyone here does.

Even Marsha.

I just had a post deleted for using another word for breasts.

Not blaming the moderator.

Can I say "breasts" here?
