As a Saints fan, is it preferable to have the Panthers in an 0-2 hole, or have both teams 1-1?

I would say 1-1. Atlanta is better than Carolina at this point IMO. So let them win.

Plus, we will be 2-0 and in 1st place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I gotta go with both being 1-1 . Falcons going 2-0 just puts a bad taste in my mouth!

Panthers win.

Best case scenario:
Saints 2-0
Panthers 1-1
Falcons 1-1
Bucs 0-2

Worst case scenario:
Saints 1-1
Panthers 1-1
Bucs 1-1
Falcons 1-1

Falcons win:

Best case scenario:
Saints 2-0
Falcons 2-0
Bucs 0-2
Panthers 0-2

Worst case scenario
Falcons 2-0
Saints 1-1
Bucs 1-1
Panthers 0-2

So, both the best and worse case scenarios are better for us if the panthers win.

So it is a prisoners dilemma with a nash equilibrium.

Yeah, I think it's safe to say Atlanta will be our toughest competition for the division crown this season. Even if Carolina manages to beat Atlanta, they're more likely to struggle this season b/c of Jake and their D. Plus, if Carolina beats Atlanta, we'll be the lone 2-0 team in the division. However, I'm not expecting Carolina to win.

I will root for the Panthers. They are more likely to fold down the stretch, and a few injuries will completely dismantle their season due to their cap situation creating an inability to go after anyone good enough to replace any starters. Not only that, I'd rather see both the Panthers and Falcons 1-1 instead of having the Falcons at 2-0.
