My son just got through kicking his senior year of high school. He had me rewind it back to the miss. Ran it in slow motion. It's mechanics. He said see dad where his plant foot is. It was in front of the ball. He said the ball has no choice but to push right where his plant foot was. I would've stayed with Johnson personally. The 2 he missed at Tennessee was the wind. We worse off now.

I wanted to keep Johnson to begin with. I was surprised they brought in Maher tbh. Let the young kid learn the ropes and get experience. Also, I think Payton sticking with a kicker like Johnson will take the pressure off and bit and he can just go out and do his thing without looking over his shoulder. Kickers have been missing a lot lately. Saints aren't the only team dealing with this.
