Whose Rating Will Soar At Combine-Workouts? (1 Viewer)

Vernon Gholston and Kenny Phillips are the first combine beasts that come to mind.

Whose Rating Will Soar At Combine-Workouts?

Owen Schmitt (weight lifting will blow people away)
Darius Reynaud (best athlete on wvu)
Steve Slaton (40 time will elevate him)
Johnny Dingle (big boy)
:D

One thing we havn't cosidered much is the possiblility that Ryan and Brohm will excell in individual workouts which would be nice in relation to the possibility of us acquiring an elite D prospect or trading down.

This thread reminds me of those "Who you should root for threads" with the prize being Dorsey or Ellis in B&G

Some excellent responses.

Reading Mike Detillier's just-posted answers to questions, it appears that Mike is in basic agreement with the premise of this thread--that there are about eight players in the first tier of this draft with another 10 players or so (Mike says 8 to 10) in the second tier.

After the combine and then in about two months, we need to revisit not necessarily this thread, but the topic of this thread--who is worthy of a top 10 pick given that the Saints have the 10th pick. Players will move up, some dramatically. The questions are who, and really how many, might move into top 10 territory.

And mrdogleg above just mentioned Oregon running back Jonathan Stewart as a player who might move up in the rankings. Even if the Saints and Deuce part ways--and I personally think something with Deuce's contract will be worked out because the fit is so right for both team and player--I would not expect the Saints to pick a running back as high as 10 (unless McFadden is still on the board). But if Deuce goes, we will pick on day one a running back.

Watch the WR from Michigan Arrington go bananas at the combine and be a first day pick.

If invited... Richard Clebert, NT, USF...

He'll do at least 43 reps on the bench press, runs a 4.8 and weighs 315-325 pounds... Those numbers will blow some team away and get him drafted... But he's a great example of a player that doesn't really blow you away on the field, but does at the combine... Just because he can bench more and run faster doesn't mean he's better than other DTs...

The USF CBs should make a jump (Mike Jenkins, Trae Williams) as they both have goals of running 4.3s

Does Dingle come with his friend Berry?

When Keith Rivers weighs in at 240lbs. and runs a 4.4 [40] he will be great value at 10.
