Only a defensive clown would rush 3 people against the Ravens when our defensive backs can't cover people for a normal amount of time much less all day because we are only rushing 3 people. The best way to protect a weak defensive backfield is to blitz so they don't have to cover any longer than they need to. This is football 101.

This is incorrect. The Ravens were consistently running max protect passing plays with 1-3 routes being run. You play coverage in these situations and stay patient. The one series we continuously blitzed, Flacco drove down the field with ease for a TD. Flacco was right at 56% completion percentage for the day and would have been much worse without the last drive.

Sometimes it looks like we have 8 guys on defense...no one in the backfield and no one in coverage...where the hell is everybody at??

Saints need a Veteran CB that will demand greatness. Bring Peterson on board ASAP. Its no communication on that back end. Make it happen Loomis. Tired of seeing teams just march down the field with 1min left in game. Its just crazy ash.

All I see is people saying “trade for a CB” but like the OP said, we aren’t getting consistent pass rush. It wouldn’t matter if we had Dieon Sanders, Chris Harris JR and prime Revis back there, this is the NFL, and when an NFL QB has 8 days a week to stand back there, someone is gonna eventually get open enough to throw it.

We had good pass rush against Washington, but is that anything to get overly excited about? Not when you look at everyone one of our other games.

Yes our secondary play needs to improve massively and another cornerback is a good thing but we also need to get more pressure and often because right now it’s embarrassing.

The question is, how do we do it? Yes we drafted Davenport but he’s still very young and getting mixed snaps with Okafor. I love Cam but even he’s struggling to get consistent pressure. Rankins is good for one sack a season and then Onyematta is hit or miss. It seems Stallworth, a Rookie was having more success than anybody at getting some sort of penetration but now he’s injured. The sooner he comes back the better. But will that be enough? I’m not too sure.

What do we do to generate more pressure? Trade? What do people think? And do we think the staff will do anything about it? Interested to hear peoples thoughts.

Football 101 taught me to not be predictable. But you must’ve gone to the Ivy League of football schools to know better than the rest of us. Your so lost in your assessment

Only a defensive clown would rush the same amount of people and drop the same amount of people into coverage on every play.

Like.

Really.

That's elementary level stuff.

We should never rush 3. We don't have enough goos pass rushers, we will never get there. But if you only want to rush 4 or 5, overload 1 side, the Saints are the worst in the league at overloading 1 side of the offensive line and making the quarterback roll out to his most difficult side.

We are rushing three cause the other guys drop back to help the defensive backs.

Yea, but Flacco threw for 70% when NOLA only rushed 3, included a TD.

LBs have played OK this year but because of scheme or lack of foot speed they seldom get to the QB on blitzes.
