You’d think this was the 1-15 Saints of the1980 season.

Look, I get frustrated like many others. There were some embarrassing performances we displayed on MNF.

We have had notoriously SLOW starts since the ‘13 season, yet we have the best W-L record in the NFL over the past 3 seasons.

It’s OK to be upset AND point out flaws. But some of this overreacting needs to go to Fulton County GA.

Peace, out.

Because this is the last dance with Brees. Last few years have ended in absolute heartbreak. It’s Super Bowl or bust. Especially when you look at our cap space for the future of the franchise. Saints have some hard decisions to make after this year.

That’s the nature of sports, I guess. I try to stay rational, myself, but I realize sometimes maybe we set our expectations too high, which leads to major disappointment. Just last week I made a post about how excited I was about our defense, and how they started unusually strong in game one. I guess I somehow had expectations that the defense would be no concern because we tend to get better and better as the season goes on. Bottom line, expectations will hurt you. I agree that the sky is falling, over-reacting is a bit much.

Cause they need Breesus to save them. All kidding aside I think the Saints in all facets were under prepared and didn't take the Raiders as seriously as they should have. Plus Las Vegas was playing with extra juice being prime time, home opener and playing a SuperBowl contender.

That may be the reason given, but that’s not the real reason. Truth is, many Saints fans are ALWAYS this extreme after a loss. We’ve seen it on this forum for years.

Disaster syndrome. I'm guilty of it. We're always waiting for the other shoe to drop and being "realistic" or "negative" helps soften the blow.

From 1987 to 2006, outside of a handful of high moments, we always got screwed or blew it when it matters.

After 2009, that went away...until 2011 when we choked away another SB. Then Bounty Gate. Then Minneapolis Miracle. Then the NFCG. Then choking against the Vikings...again.

Hard not to feel like the sky is falling with this team sometimes.

For what it is worth on Speak for Yourself. The panel is debating about whether or not Mahomes is living up to expectations and how he is off to a slow start. No QB is exempt from criticism it seems.

Because fans are people and most people just aren't very smart and are prone to flights of fancy.

Because we’re seeing Brees’ decline and don’t want him to take the team down with him.

we see a frustrating season ahead of us.

because we would have won if we had kept teddy. CSP would have ran more with teddy. Or if taysom started we would have won as well. Sorry, forgot add Winston to the last sentence as well.

Or because some have been saying for a couple years Now that Brees lost the long ball and teams have figured us out, yet we do the same thing over and over

I'm concerned because the Saints franchise has set a standard for excellence and this off season and the play Monday night resembled that of the Bounty Gate Season.

The expectations are just higher now. Also, us fans have been through a lot since Superbowl XLIV and we see the writing on the wall... That being, if the team can't pull together another superbowl win now then it may not ever happen again.

... and no trophy to show for it.

But in any case, just the nature of the beast. Sports + internet forum. What else do you expect?
