Pretty pathetic when people tie their self-esteem to stupidity. There's nothing wrong with working out, building muscle, etc. But when someone becomes so self-obsessed as to say to themselves "I've got to have the largest arms in the world" or whatever, it goes well beyond taking pride in one's appearance. That someone would push themselves to the point that they'd disfigure their body in that capacity only underscores the point.

Actually, it probably more involves egotistical blindness to the reality that it just looks effing stupid.
