Analysis Why Taysom Hill is the Most Important Player on Offense (A story in 3 plays) (2 Viewers)

TH7 the most important player on the Saints O.
Interesting

Right now, probably.....but is anyone else concerned that he will be 35 next year? I mean, by all means use him when he is healthy but I think it's extremely risky to rely on him as a huge part of the offense going forward.....he is human, will likely get injured more often.....like I said in a prior thread, wish he were 28 or even 30......
Lamar is an every down QB who can run the ball as well as just about anyone, but he doesn't and can't line up wide, or at TE, or at FB. Hill is more dangerous than Lamar because he is more versatile, and can be used as a decoy/distraction. Lamar takes every snap.

While Lamar can take over and dominate a game, he's no Taysom Hill.

I mean, I don't think you can compare the 2, completely different roles and all.....

To discredit Rizzi is foolish. Our full team of starters including Tayson played in the second Carolina game. And we lost, and were left dead in the water. Rizzi erased all of the negative emotion and spun that energy into motivation, to go on a two game winning streak. That’s what leaders do. Certainly KK deserves a ton of credit too for designing an offense that centered around THill. Will Rizzi have a 3 games streak? I don’t know. The Rams will be a tough test.

I am not observing this year— and this is a good thing IMO—is a nice drive with no Taysom until he awkwardly enters the game for a few series that are essentially “Taysom Time.” He seems to be more integrated into the offense all the way down the field.

By all accounts he takes care of himself properly, is a family man, lives a clean life as a Christian, and other players marvel at his workouts.

Saints sports science director Dr. Matt Rhea is on record saying he's never seen anything like Hill. He is the only player in top 10 in nine of the 10 key metrics tested of athleticism on the team, at 34 years old. He was top 20 in the 10th. No other player tested better than top 10 in more than 3 categories.

The concerns about his age have come up each year since HIll entered the league at 27 years old. People often state he's been often injured since entering the NFL which isn't true. He's never been used as a "bell cow" or a "workhorse" type player. His touches have been complimentary in the systems he's played in.

What should be a bigger concern is that the coaching staffs forget to use him enough which has been the case most of his career. Find the sweet spot and roll with it.

I don't do "I told you so's" The only time I have ever done an I was right was about Penning.
There are many ways to say, "I said so." Here's an example from the first page of this thread.

I said a while back that aplay with TH faking like he was running and pulling up to throw would be a great wrinkle to use.

WOW , Interpret things the way you want much? In no way is that an " I was right and you were wrong " statement

You're correct. It was just an "I was right" statement and that's all that I said it was. You added on the "and you were wrong" part, not me.

I never said you said anyone else was wrong, but you most certainly were saying you were right about something you said you said months ago. That goes to my point that once you make a declaration about something, you are quick and constant in shooting down anything that makes your declaration seem not right.

I mean, I hope he continues his level of play until he is 40.......I just don't think it's likely.....and I don't think it's wise to depend on him being a huge part of the offense without a very good backup plan.....

There's no player on the horizon that is going to replace Taysom one for one. They're missing big parts of the offensive production losing WR #1 and #2 and RB #2a and #2b have also been injured or ineffective. It's Taysom time right now. Hopefully Moreau and Johnson can step up and share the load.

Oh, this season I totally agree, we have limited options, I'm more talking about going forward 2025 and beyond.....

Hilarious, So people should waffle and not defend or backup their statements all just for the sake of not being right??? Do you read your posts???

Not what I wrote. You'll keep arguing against any and every consideration that Rizzi might be a good head coach, because you said right off the bat that he doesn't have enough experience to be a good head coach.

You won't let a single instance of someone suggesting Rizzi is capable of being a good head coach slip by without reminding everyone that you don't think he has enough experience to be a good head coach.

You could easily prove me wrong moving forward, but you won't because you are overly invested in proving yourself right.

I can't make it any clearer than that. Wow, LOL and snipe all you want. I've got nothing left to say on the matter.

I think y’all are both right and wrong about this. It’s definitely a Kubiak thing, but I think DA really restricted Kubiak a lot where Rizzi is giving him a much more free hand. Whatever the case, Rizzi seems one to go down swinging rather than play conservative, and I think the fans and the players appreciate that. Let’s enjoy it while it lasts, eh? We all bleed black & gold here!

Kubiak was running the offense the same under DA, specifically the first few games of the year before injuries started to mount.

I think we forget are line is starting to heal up, Penning is playing better and per Carr we have some veteran wide receivers who have played in this league and know what to do as opposed to young guys who need direction in the huddle.
