I don't know if it's been elaborated on but, I wanted to comment on the irronic decision to suspend the (Julius Jones Stuffing) Hollis Thomas . . . . NOW!!!!

I heard earlier on the radio that this was allegations he was fighting since the beginning of the season. The NFL loves drama and they love the Cinderella story (for obvious ratings reasons). Apparrently Tony Romo is the man of the hour and since the Cowboys are Americas team, it seams timely to pull all stops and hand out a suspension.

Jerry Jones and all of his clout could have easily influenced action to be taken on the allegations from back in the beginning of the year. That dude would out right buy a win if he could.

Kinda makes you wonder how many "pending abuse allegations" are floating around right now waiting to be pulled when the time is right (or pursued).

NFL / Networks want the Tony Rom . . . I mean Cowboys to win to fulfill all of his hype and on PrimeTime. Just seems suiting to pull out this suspension now. I can already see a crazy lop-sided, cowboy favored game called by the refs Sun. night, and in big-D no-less. We might as well let Jerry Jones hand pick the officials.

I hope all said and all acts of despiration aside, we just come out and light them up hands down!!!!

Not ironic.

With Hollis Thomas being suspended 4 games do you think he will be rested up. a DT doesnt exactly need to be in rythm like a QB/WR/RB to be effective. Im sure Hollis is hurting and with his age maybe he will be 100 percent for the play offs. I meen its a huuuuge injustice that he got suspended so thats just the only bright side i can see

i think you might be trying to create something here.

as much as I hate what happened, I can understand why they did it.

There are no conspiracy theories behind this. It is a HUGE blow but we should be pleased it happens now - rather than 4 games ago!

I'll add that if in fact there was actual steroid usage in the past, I can understand and would expect action to be taken . . . .

I guess what I'm seeing is that with the big money behind the sports and the more aggressive attorneys these days, they are getting good taking these issue on post season and avoiding public exposure (with the exception of some obvious few). We've all seen how the league pulls out the stops when they want to give a favored team for whatever reason, usually media popularity, in a lot of cases by lop-sided officiating. Has been a plague of ours too for some time.

I think that the NFL and media is all over the Romo story. He's the Big Ben story of this year and that equals ratings. Everyone wants to see him win. I think more so than the 'ol Saints rising from the dust story (unfortunately). And all I'm saying is, with that in mind and the fact that Jerry Jones is very influential as well . . . . . public may not know about these kind of allegations on the back burner but owners and insiders can circulate the nasty. Get Jerry asking for a favor to pursway action to be taken . . . . you never know.

If that's the case, that's pretty pathetic and really, it's not THAT big of a deal.
It doesn't even get me upset, but I can't help but bring light to things I find suspicious.
Desperate might be a better way to put it.

H. Thomas has been a monster and will be missed but I think we still take the Cowboys.
So NICE TRY!!!!

I'm not "Conspiracy Theory" driven but
If you're missing my point, just think, WHY NOW? I've heard all of the history but not why and how they came to the decision to suspend NOW?!?

I don't think that the NFL engages in secret plans to facilitate one team winning at the expense of the other teams.

If I thought that, I would not watch the league. Or, I might watch it but give it the same level of emotional investment as a Law and Order re-run. It would be entertaining, but not something about which I cared.

I don't get (and I am not saying that DomePatrol01 in any way actually beleives this) people who honestly think that professional sports are rigged yet still care about them. You are just setting yourself up to be dissapointed in that instance.

The last instance where I say for sure that the fix was on was the 1972 Olympic Basketball finals against the Soviets. Although I like also to beleive in the whole "frozen envelope" Patrick Ewing to the Knicks conspiracy just because that one is such a cool story that I would be sad if it didn't happen.

Based on your assumptions, what makes you think we can beat the officials too? Saints fans are too aware of fantum calls this late in the season.

Everyone is reaching on this one. He/the team appealed and lost, so it comes out. The Chargers had it happen. The Panthers had it happen. It is not the NFL against the Saints, if anything, they would want the Saints to succeed, great story and huge PR points for the league.

Why now?

Pretty simple, really.

The penalty is a 4 game suspension. There is no guarantee the Saints make the playoffs. THe NFL has to act on the drug test. The appeal was lost and there are 4 games remaining in the regular season.

This is the last chance to suspend HT for the 4 games required.

Its not too complex to figure out why it happened now.

It happened now because there are only 4 games left.

In other words the NFL let it go down to the last possible moment.
