Nope. I haven't heard anyone seriously talking about wearing masks permanently but I'm sure some will. I think by 2022 you'll start seeing signs on banks disallowing them.

Add in that until the world vaccine rate is much higher we're still at risk of a new variant which the vaccine and previous infection cannot protect against. I read and article which stated that with the millions of infections and frequency of mutation, it's a numerical certainty that this will occur. It probably has and we just haven't identified it yet actually. The think I think people are forgetting is that we're not anywhere near out of the woods yet. We're certainly making progress, but vaccines have some lag time before they become fully effective, and like you stated, they're not 100%. Until we get something in the neighborhood of 70% vaccinated or immune, I'm planning to stay masked up in public.
What I'd be concerned about is becoming too "normal" too soon. Imo, we need to continue to remain vigilant to avoid other spikes.

So we could see ourselves right back to the beginning pretty quickly unfortunately.
I would be just fine to continue social distancing
My masks are too cool not to continue wearing.
I really don't get why people get so bent out of shape over a mask.
Because they are uncomfortable(even painful behind your ears), especially if you have to wear one all day because you are working in a place that deals with the public.
Also, most cool masks don't do a very good job of protection anyway unless you are double masking.
They are also a new added expense, quality N95 masks are not cheap.
While a lot of that is true, there are creative ways of wearing masks that don't involve wearing them behind the ears. They can be customized so that it's not as uncomfortable.
Sure, wearing them for extended periods of time is tough. The longest I've worn a mask is like 2 hours when I was doing a bit of shopping. I've been fortunate enough to be able to work from home since last March. I'd hate wearing them all day.
I kind of like the option of people not seeing my face
That's not really how survival of the fittest works.Yeah, guess we have to hope the mutations weaken rather than strengthen the virus.
