Winston is the key to a Super Bowl run this year (1 Viewer)

I think Jameis is key but really a huge key is Dennis Allen. I see sportsbooks at 7.5 or 8 wins. With the talent on this team, some are scratching their head (including me). The biggest insight I found was this article:

TLDR: It's rare for a HC in the first year of his second stint to have success

I think this situation is unique though (so much carryover) and gives Allen a better chance to succeed than normal. Of course, Jameis is a huge part of that but Allen also has to beat the odds and earn back those 2 wins bookmakers are probably taking away from the team.
Allen is inheriting a playoff caliber team and not a team where the coach was fired for losing. This team has great talent and are relatively deep in most positions. The one main concern I have is possibly losing Kamara for an extended time as we really are thin in backups at RB!
Allen still has to coach and motivate the team, but he is known by the team snd clearly a great defensive coach so I am confident he will be able to replace coach Payton effectively- he certainly had the tools.

Yeah, but you also said that Winston was going to be Ian Book's backup and this is month five of me waiting for your exhaustive list of free agent QBs who are better than Winston.
I believe I said Winston has the talent to be a solid back up qb in the NFL. I don’t believe I said he would be Books backup.
My point is that Winston is not Brady, Rogers, or an established starter and should have to compete for the starting job especially coming off an injury. He hasn’t put the skins on the wall to be anointed the starting job. Competition makes a team better at every position.

If Winston plays average I think 10 wins is worst case. If he plays above average then 12-14 wins. If he's actually good then forget about it. I think we win the whole damn thing. That's assuming we stay healthy or get healthy down the stretch.

It's really that simple to me. It's kind of an obvious statement and it's cliche but this team will go as far as Winston takes them. Coaches like to talk about how it's never about just one player but when it comes to QB it kinda is. He's the one player on the field who can make or break a season. He has the talent. On paper he has the weapons. All he has to do is take care of the ball and keep the chains moving. He doesn't have to go for broke trying to score a TD on every possession.

This will be the best team top to bottom that Winston has ever led and I can't wait to see how he responds.

I'm a Doobie Brothers "minute by minute" type of fan. We start at ground zero and nothing is proven yet. Everyone has a chance to make the team. Do the work in camps, work on our chemistry, work on our improvements, study our opponents, Focusing not on the past, what happened before, but focusing on the next moment of execution trusting our instincts to get that done. Not being caught up in fantasy and fame and the what if's. Walking the walk and talking the talk. Being where you need to be to execute. Straight balling and feeding on that energy. I am a Saints fan from the seventies, at times before wondering if we would ever win a Super Bowl, before We did. I've always have hope, always will and it is not over until the fat lady sings. Yes Aaron Brooks is from my area and also Ronald Curry which is coaching on offense now. I'm always thinking we will win the Super Bowl even when others don't think that. I am a Saints fan and Whodat is going to beat them Saints.

Overall Iam pretty confident that Winston will live finally live up to the hype he got in his draft days

He went 5-2 last year with WRs that probably won’t even be starters this year. And a o line that looked washed the entire season.

We absolutely bolstered those deficits and Winston will be able to use protection and weapons even more efficiently after sitting another year in the Saints organization and learning!

Remember, Payton might be gone but Carmichael is still there and has been for Winstons entire stay

Isn’t that the case with nearly every NFL team?
