Don’t shoot the messenger but I heard from a very reliable source as in a Winston family member that Payton plans to sign him as the backup to Brees this season. Personally I’m all for it and I think he could be deadly in this offense under Payton. Thoughts?

Ironically, I heard the same thing today. Not once, but twice. Once from an friend in Bessemer, AL and another from a former QB at FSU who is very much in the loop.

Even more interesting is they said discussions are ongoing for an odd contract that only pays vet minimum for the first year and has some sort of team option for the 2nd.

And, for anyone here who's whining about Drew's arm strength and inability to get the ball downfield, Jameis Winston has no such problem. He can damn sure throw the ball out of the stadium. And, he can run. Just for the sake of daydreaming, what happens with him and TH and DB on the field at one time? He's far more physically gifted than Teddy ever dreamed of being.
