Winston rumor (1 Viewer)

You're obviously a person who's never made mistakes in your life

If you think sexual assault and credible rape accusations are a "mistake," you probably need to badly re-evaluate your life.

Edit: You can clown rate me all you want, it still doesn't change the fundamental ignorance of your statement. You can do it a thousand times and you will still be wrong.

I did multiple times and while I admit Winston instigated the fight I don't know how anyone can say that fight was his doing and not Evans.

You're not improving the game of a mature player. Luke McCown didn't come here and get better. Too many fans are feeling that signing Winston would have a Taysom type feel as the heir apparent. Guys, this would be closer to a Ryan Griffin or Garrett Grayson role.
I'm not excusing what Evans did -- it was a dirty cheap shot. But if Winston doesn't go total bush league, the fight doesn't happen. Look at Winston's post-game explanation and tell me you're ok with that guy on your team.

Are you OK with a team signing a guy who was accused of sexual battery, sentenced to 6 months in jail and then when his sentence was changed to a year of probation welcomed him back?

Look, I know there's very few angels in the NFL. If you're talking about Granderson, what I read about his case sounds a lot different than Winston, but what do any of us really know? And to answer your question, no, I'm not "ok" with it, but I'm also not against giving people second chances, especially if they've shown contrition and maturity. I see none of that in Winston based on what I've read about him. I see a dude who thinks he's above the law and refuses to grow up, and I would be extremely disappointed if the Saints signed him. Thankfully, I don't think it will happen, but I wouldn't like it if it did.

For some reason any and every accusation against Jameis sticks in some people's minds without any consideration of innocence, while actions of a very similar nature in others are - I don't know - forgotten, forgiven, or just ignored. Might I mention that Peyton Manning was accused of sexual assault, continued to harrass the woman for years afterward, and was later accused of using hgh to treat his injuries, yet he gets away clean. If Jameis' accusations speak to character, so do Peytons, don't they.

And, again, someone referred to how dumb Jameis is - well, if you think Peyton Manning is smart - consider that Jameis scored only one point below Peyton on the Wonderlic, Peyton 28, Jameis 27. It's the only measure of intelligence that is readily available.

Like was shown in the article comparing Jameis' first five years to Peyton - Jameis was actually a little better over that span. He has talent. Just sayin'.

He has physical talent and he's apparently not stupid but he makes horrible decisions at the worst times , consistently , on and off the field . That's a big reason for the discrepancy in W-L and perception of character , IMO .

You are talking about Jameis and not Peyton I know, but look at the stats for Peyton's first five years ... they're pretty much in line with Jameis', with Jameis having a little bit of an edge over Peyton. And, you might even say Peyton made a pretty stupid mistake in the 2009 Super Bowl game, then, after losing, showed poor character in walking off the field without at least shaking Drew's hand. I'm not trying to beat up on Peyton or promote Jameis, just hoping for a fair and equal assessment.

Look, I'll take Jameis. Physically he has all the tools and I think a lot of his mistakes come because he always thinks he can make the throw. With a little discipline and coaching to learn patience and look for the next read, Jameis will be fine.

Football is a business, and CSP will say what he needs to say to make the Saints a better football team, and IMO right now that means saying Taysom is our number 2 QB.

So you’re saying Jameis will win 2 Super Bowls and will eventually be in the Hall of Fame. Well, by all means, sign him up! ?

No, I said what I said. Which was that their records both on and off the field were similar, with Jameis having a slight edge in statistics on the field over his first five years compared to Peyton. They both were accused of screwing up off the field. Similar accusations.

Jameis could be capable of winning multiple Super Bowls, that's yet to be seen. He has the talent and the smarts to do it, it's all up to him, but it will matter where he goes from here. He needs a coach like Sean Payton.

I'd be curious to see how many people in favor of Winston being on the Saints would also let him escort their daughter or sister to a party.
