No doubt Briggs is one heckuva football player. Rickey brought lots of memorable years of production to our city. He also apparently dabbled in reproduction. I am all for reproduction, don't get me wrong. Rickey may be in my top five Saints players all time.

Let's know what we may be getting with Briggs before he arrives. It is not for me to say if he would be worth it or not. You decide. I know this is OLD NEWS below, but let's look at this OLD NEWS in light of CURRENT free agency.

If Briggs did come to Louisiana, would this be the second coming of Rickey Jackson?

Apparently, Chicago Sun-Times first broke this story in mid December. A paternity suit followed.

Just something to consider.

Perhaps Rivers at the 10 spot may be the better consideration.

some sites wonder if Briggs or Saints lost interest because we signed vilma and simeoux (I'm curious what either has to do with Briggs).

The Vilma pickup is a low risk, high upside move that is not the end-all, be-all at the MLB postion. That is why the trade is a conditional draft pick for next year. There is still more acquisition needed at the MLB position.

O yeah, and if we don't bring Briggs in there won't be a single unwed mother in NOLA giving birth in the next ten years.

"I have had an open-door policy toward parenting," she said. "Lance has apparently had an open-pants policy toward paternity."

Hmmmmm. Maybe Briggs would be the second coming of Rickey Jackson. :ezbill:

This is a joke right? This isn't even close.

If I would've been joking, I would've used numerous puns about a second COMING and how the PROLIFIC linebacker was proliferating in proliferation. However, I don't have to do the joking around here. Lance's baby mama can do all of the joking for us. Did you read her quote? I believe I let out a pant or two when I read it. It was priceless:
