Would you be willing to trade next years 1st rounder if...... (1 Viewer)

No CB we take is going to start his rookie season anyway.

What about if we got Ellis at #10. Based on numerous of mock drafts, K. Rivers can go anywhere from #7 to the Pats to #31 to the Giants. If K. Rivers is available at #20, then we would definitely have to jump on that. The salary cap for him would be lower since it seems the salaries of rookies go up approx. 10% and the salary of #20 pick is bearable. However, this would allow us to draft 2 starters! In essence, we have nexts yrs. #1 playing this year. And as 67Bandwagonfan stated, this would allow us to free some cash to sign Colston to a long term contract.

If I could trade up to #2 and grab Dorsey, I'd trade away next year's 1st in a heartbeat. Not only would we have one of the most dominant defensive players to come out in the last 2 decades, but we'd be able to save that 1st round dough next season to pay the players we already have on the team.

Look at the 49ers. Staley was ok but not great last season and if they had kept there pick they would be picking at 7 and getting a much better player
