Saints have not drafted a QB in 1st round since Manning in 1971.

Tua's only flaw is he's oft injured and left handed. Throws an awesome deep ball. I'd be all about it...but the constant injuries is troubling.I'd be absolutely pumped if we landed Tua.
Think about it -- if unfortunately the virus carries into the Fall and the NFL is cancelled in 2020/21, would Drew postpone his retirement one more year? That's another year of aging..I think the safe bet is a QB if you're thinking life after Drew.

No inside knowledge from me but I have a feeling they plan on trading up high for Tua if he falls. A conspiracy theorist would say all the Burrow to Saints talk and rumors of Tua’s injury status are a way for the saints to pump up other players value and drop Tua’s value...I’m not a conspiracy theorist though.
it’s just fun to speculate sometimes.
As far as selecting in the regular draft yeah. We did draft Dave Wilson in the 1st round supplemental. And traded the 1991 1st for Walsh.
Tua and it’s not even close.Tua or Love?
It would have to be close if you're considering longevity. Bottom line is if Tua had no prior durability concerns he would be going 1 or 2 overall. That being said I'd darft him in a heartbeat, but you still have to be a little concerned about his injuries.Tua and it’s not even close.
We didn't draft Danny Weurfel (sp?) in the first?
Edit: Just looked it up. Damn. 4th round for a Heisman winner??? Wow
