It shouldn't be a big deal but with a large number of people unable to afford healthcare, and the anti vax crowd growing there's a small chance that this could be interesting.

You said

"So, Singapore is pretty much where the virus is supposed to not do well, yet it's spreading there. That's definitely not a good sign"

Why isn't it supposed to do not well there? All a common cold needs to spread is contact with another person regardless of season.
Colds are more common in winter because we humans tens to congregate in places like school or shopping malls
You're reading too much into what I said. I already know all of what you said. What was discussed earlier was that while we know it is similar to the common cold, there was some question whether climate would have the same effect or lack thereof. And, we're starting to see evidence that it's a bit more resilient than we'd like.

He either brought it to or picked it up in Hawaii.
Neither is a good sign.
Luckily, I'm in a super rural part of Big Island. To be honest I'm mostly worried about supply chain disruptions. Plus I work from home and it requires frequent visitors. I may need to start telling people not to come if they have any cold like symptoms.

Japan had a really bad day. 8 new confirmed cases not related to the cruise ship including a 2nd doctor was confirmed with the virus, 3 taxi drivers and then the man that traveled from Hawaii while symptomatic. Could be several super spreaders involved from just today.

I normally do my grocery shopping on Friday evenings. I went ahead and started picking up a few extra things to stockpile - toilet paper, canned goods, lysol wipes and spray. I figured it couldn't hurt.

Colds are more common in winter because we humans tend to congregate in places like school or shopping malls

"
We've seen, basically, explosive spread inside China of person-to-person transmission, so — in that sense — it really is behaving like a common-cold causing coronavirus," says Adalja.

For that reason, he says, "I do think seasonality will play a role. As this outbreak unfolds and we approach spring and summer, I do think we will see some tapering off of cases."

"Asked about existing winter crisis in NHS he said the hope was to slow the spread of virus so if it does cause UK epidemic it gets here in spring and summer when Coronaviruses are less transmissible."

And, of course, a word from our nation's top scientist.

FINALLY!!!!! I read about this on my news feed.

Hurray for our State Department!!!! 👍🙏🏻

Get those folks out of that Petri dish & into a place with stellar treatment. I read that the State Department is sending 2 planes to get those folks out of there.
