Can't get a much better debut as a QB very nearly out dueling Patrick Mahomes.

But nope, Anthony Lynn said he's putting juggernaut Tyrod Taylor back in as starter once he's healthy.

Egad.

Great 1st start, but no rush for him to get exposed through tape sessions. He's still pretty raw.

I don't know if that's just coach speak, or if he thinks that'll actually happen. Neither would surprise me with him, honestly. Herbert has to have a chip on shoulder after everything said about him pre-draft and probably wants to prove his doubters wrong.

There's also a ton of validity in what Taker said, too, though.

“Once he’s healthy” is the key coachspeak there. Seen this before. I imagine Tyrod is never going to be quite healthy enough.

A buddy of mine at work is a Charger fan. I told him last week they need put Herbert in at QB. They aren't going anywhere with Tyrod. At best maybe make a no.7 playoff seed. Put the kid in see what he has.
