Young couple goes on van tour of US, boy comes back with van - no girl (3 Viewers)

The mother of Brian Laundrie, the man who killed van-life influencer Gabby Petito before dying by suicide in a Florida swamp, allegedly told her son she'd bake him a cake with a shiv inside if he went to prison, according to the Petito family's attorney.

The Petitos sued the Laundries after Gabby was found dead in the Teton National Forest in 2021.

The lawsuit is demanding that the Laundries provide a "burn after reading" letter that Brian’s mother, Roberta Laundrie, allegedly wrote him prior to his disappearance, according to WFLA.

“The letter in question, written by Roberta Laundrie to Brian Laundrie references bringing a shovel to help bury a body, and baking a cake with a shiv in it should Brian Laundrie go to prison," the Petito family's attorney, Pat Reilly, wrote. "A reasonable inference is that the letter was written at a time when Gabrielle Petito was as yet unburied, and Brian Laundrie could go to jail for the crime of murder.”

Mr Reilly said he has seen the letter, and that it was initially collected by the FBI during their preliminary investigation into Gabby’s disappearance. He said the FBI returned the letter to the Laundries, and noted it had the words "burn after reading" written on the envelope………

So, how does this work? Can the Laundrie's family sue the Petito's family, because the police video with the body cam, said Gabby scratched Brian's face?!?!

Maybe the Laundrie's can sue the Moab police, for not taking Gabby into custody, after it was proven that Gabby was violent?!?!

Another year of legal fights, then it's over?

Judge awards mother of Gabby Petito $3 million from Brian Laundrie’s estate

"A third lawsuit is also winding its way through the courts. Gabby’s parents have also filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Moab, Utah, Police Department over their response to a domestic disturbance incident between the Gabby and Brian shortly before Gabby was murdered.

That suit is seeking $50 million in damages from the Moab Police, arguing officers’ negligence abrogated their duty, violated Utah law and led to her tragic death."

"Meanwhile, the suit against Brian Laundrie’s parents continues.

A hearing in the case is set in Sarasota County Court on Nov. 22 to rule on a motion by Brian’s parents, asking the judge to limit what lawyers can ask them in upcoming depositions in the civil case.

In the motion filed by lawyers for Christopher and Roberta Laundrie, they argue that any questions be limited to a three-week window in 2021, between the time when Petito’s was killed and when her body was found in a national park in Wyoming."

Obstruction of justice & accomplice to a murder
If you take what she's saying literally...sure. but she wasn't being literal...stupid and tonedeaf yeah, but to the point of being an accomplice...no because the deed had already been done. She was just wrongheadedly supporting her murdering son.

accomplice after the fact is still an accomplice (failing to report his whereabouts)

it is amazing how some see it only one way...i have watched every stick of footage that was on this crap...so i can see it that way but i dont....think of this for a moment...A: we do not know when the letter was written...B: do not know the mindset of brian or his parents at the time this letter was written...so lets make up a moment...lets just say brian weeks before the trip was down and out and was feeling worthless...mom sees her son is struggling....well she write the letter to try to remind him he is loved and important to his parents. I think it was a letter trying to help her son....as for the part of burn letter...we dont know the dynamic of their relationship...for all you know mom and son watched every james bond movie hundreds of times and was just a joke between them. as for the outcome no she didnt deserve to die at all...those 2 when they got pulled over should have gone 2 different directions and never look back...there are other fish in the sea.

I'd hypothetically help you bury a body.

I'd also hypothetically put a file in a cake if you're ever in jail (hypothetically).

burn after reading.

These are not hard dots to connect. She's in deep trouble.
