Let's say by some work of genius or miracle or whatever, the Saints this year had the first 7 picks of the draft... Who would you pick and why?

Just want to see who everyone think the top 7 players this team could use would be, and then to see if we land one of them :)

The first 7 picks in the entire draft? Then,

1.Sedrick Ellis
2.Kenny Phillips
3.Glenn Dorsey (Dorsey and Ellis in a D line coaced by Orgeron, wow...)
4.Vernon Gholston (Look at his arms...)
5.Keith Rivers
6.Dominique-Rodgers Cromarite
7.Mike Jenkins (Cromartie and Jenkins would be our 2 starting CBs with Mckenzie out)

Dream draft with the first 7 picks? In no particular order:

Dorsey
Ellis
Long
Long
Gholston
Rivers
Connors

That is right, no CB listed. I do not think any of the CB are better than the players I listed above. We would essentially revamp our entire defensive front 7.

Hard to argue with this list...the only player missing from the list is Desean Jackson...while some will argue that we do not need another receiver or offensive player, it is Jackson's uncanny return abilities that would make me want to include him. Of course, McKelvin is a solid returner. But he is not the returner that Jackson is. Jackson is probbaly the closest thing you'll get to Devin Hester. There is another kid, however, Kevin Robinson of Utah, who is very, very good and a guy that the Saints should think about toward the later rounds. He has blazing speed and is an outstanding return man.

these three picks alone would make up for the whole 07 draft. give me an explosive returner in one of the late rounds and id go nuts!
