(either LOL or witty or other)
mine:
1) Richard Pryor
2) Tim Conway
3) Eddie Izzard
4) Steve Martin (up until Dirty Rotten Scoundrels)
5) John Cleese
6) Andy Kaufman
7) Madeline Kahn

I'll comeback and fill the rest in. No particular order.

1) George Carlin
2) Joe Pesci
3) Redd Foxx
4) Richard Pryor
5) Dave Chappelle
6) Katt Williams
7) Eddie Murphy

1. Martin Lawrence - my friends and I idolized this guy in high school. We all talked and acted like Martin from the TV show. He's gotten worse with age though and his overall subpar movie acting has undercut his hilariousness.
2. Chris Tucker - just hearing this guy's voice makes me laugh
3. Steve Carrell - His act on "The Office" was just top-notch. Miss that show
4. Dave Chappelle - Edgy at times, but another guy whose mere voice is hilarious
5. Kevin Hart - An up-and-comer, but understandably not for everyone

That's all I got, off the top of my head.

1) Robin Williams
2) Jonathan Winters
3) Tom Conway
4) John Belushi
5) Lucille Ball
6) Bill Murray
7) Richard Pryor/Carol Burnett (tie)

1. Johnny Carson
2. Andy Kaufman
3. Robin Williams
4. John Cleese
5. Lucille Ball
6. Bill Cosby (looking past his actual hideous soul, somehow)
7. Carol Burnett

It's tough to leave off so many people who made/make me laugh -- Groucho Marx, John Pinette, Larry David, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, John Belushi, Gilda Radner, Jack Benny (my hero as a little kid), Henny Youngman....I would almost have 7 in every style (standup, sketch comedy, screenplays

No order

Pee Wee is also hilarious. Should have included him on my list. His slapstick, childish humor act still makes me laugh. :hihi:

Carlin was the best comedian but not necessarily the funniest.

its crazy but for me his longevity kind of worked against him. When he was on, mostly in his young days, there was not many better. But there is so much mediocre material out there of him as well.

Well...my point is that his material was not always intended to be funny.
