I suppose your first comment was accurate - I’m not sure what I feel about it. I think I have become numb to shootings, it’s just the reality of living through grotesque shooting after grotesque shooting and nobody ever trying to do anything about it. It dulls the response.

I think it’s horrible, I think it’s terrible for our country and I’m thankful it appears to be minor. Beyond that I have mixed emotions about whether continued tolerance of violent and inflammatory rhetoric in country with more guns than residents isn’t the best recipe for peace. And my feelings about that are rather acute.
For one thing, does it not stir thoughts about other non-deadly political shootings? Gabby Giffords, Steve Scalise, Reagan, Ford (twice), Wallace. We could talk about that.

We could talk about the JFK and RFK assassinations.

Certainly there are other things that can be discussed besides gun control (which is always nonproductive these days)
