Rizzi: Rattler and Haener will compete in practice to see who starts vs Commanders

I think that's all true about Haener, but I also tend to think his ceiling is good backup QB. As a result, I'd prefer to see more of Rattler so he can get more experience and learn from his mistakes. I'd also like to see him get a fairer shot with a decent OL and at least one actual NFL WR in MVS. Plus Rattler has the higher upside and I think it's time we start taking chances on higher upside players at the QB position. We have Carr who sets a decent bar that you can win with, but while we have that we should be taking chances on guys who have the ceiling to be great.

But, I'd also be fine with giving Haener starts to let him develop. Maybe he ends up being better. Or maybe he ends up doing enough to get us a draft pick in a trade.
