NFL Black Monday Thread

Just the change he made to the coaching of the defensive line took them from horrific to at least serviceable/above average. Cam Jordan was a ghost before the change was made.

I'm not a fan of keeping Rizzi, but wouldn't be too upset if he's given a chance to build his own team and work with a healthier roster. Only if we have trouble landing some of the better candidates with our cap situation.

He did make some gametime clock management mistakes and maybe a bit too "enthusiastic" ;) at times.
What Loomis saw in DA was a good "coach" that could potentially develop into a good HC. He didn't, and so they know they were heard, plenty of people felt that DA's Raiders tenure was enough to prove that he wouldn't develop. Rizzi is another good "developmental" coach that Mickey would be wise to consider. Loomis' logic and reasoning were solid, DA was the wrong person and perhaps that Raiders tenure should have held more weight during decision making than it did.

Still, we shouldn't shy away from Rizzi just because of a previous mistake and his prior ties to SP. Again, if he's wrong he can just fire him to start 2026 and nobody will flinch.
