No that wasn't meant in the literal term it was meant as questioning why would the state make it unable to be "moved" aka the ability to destroy it.

There will never be a new stadium in New Orleans. They will continue to update the Superdome, just as they have Lambeau Field and Soldier Field. Unlike most stadiums built 30+ years ago, the Superdome is very well built and very flexible in terms of configurations. Even after that, the simple fact is that the area doesn't have the funds for a new stadium and to redevelop the infrastructure to a new stadium.I must have completely missed any news/rumors/etc.....but I did see mention about a possible new stadium in two threads this morning (Drew owning Saints and retractable roof).
Is this an actual discussion.....and if so, what would a possible timeline look like?
Also, would it be on the same site? If not, I can't imagine available land within walking distance of the city.
Thanks in advance,
Outback
It's going to be interesting to follow how the Chargers do playing at Stubhub stadium the next two seasons. I think it's going to hold 27,000 a game.
If a future stadium is at the Superdome site or if it's a complete guy out and re do of the Superdome, what's the chance they the Saints play at Yulman Stadium for a few seasons?!
It could be an option.

So, unless the owner is about to shell his/her own money for a new stadium...
It's registered as a historical site. So that's not going to happen.A new stadium will eventually be built where the Dome is. Green Bay doesn't host Super Bowls, Final Fours, major bowl games, and the College Football Playoff.
Lambeau only hosts the Packers in a city that is contractually locked to the NFL forever.

Where will those events be held for the two years it would take to remove the current structure and build a new one there? Who do you suppose would pay for this to be done? The answer to those questions must be found before any real discussion of a new stadium is conducted.A new stadium will eventually be built where the Dome is. If there is strong sentiment on this forum that (a) a new stadium is not necessary and (b) a new stadium will not be built, just think how the general public and elected officials feel on these issues.
What is a psl fee what does it mean? You're right about the general public, but Atlanta is a good indicator that with enough financial backing, who cares what the public thinks, as long as there is money to be made.
Also for a little reference for those that are pro new stadium:
My friend at work had season tickets in the ga dome for $200 a ticket. Those same tickets in the new stadium will be $500 a ticket plus a $5,000 PSL fee.
