NBA? If Watson and Wilson successfully orchestra their own trades like Stafford.. Is this what fans want?

To be honest I don't like it. It is fun and exciting when it doesn't involve your team. But when it does, where does it leave the fan. Just imagine if Brees did this to us after 2011 and "bounty gate" still under investigation and your coach is suspended for the whole year.

This is the first year where every team will be so different. Really I am not going to put Matthew Stafford with Wilson and Watson because the Lions was going to move on regardless. They have been telling about that for a couple of years now

personally I think its a good think.
Sure some fans might not like it.

But imagine you are a pretty talented QB stuck in a team that does thinks like the Texans. Selling all their weapons, doing trades that are completely nonsense.
What a wasted career of Watson if he has to stay until forever.

so maybe some franchises are forced to make some bold decisions regarding their GMs, HCs etc.

Not during rookie deal for sure but

if a player signs as FA or returning player and direct promises are made I could see after a set amount of time no attempts to fulfill promises I could see a player calling foul

I think of Barry Sanders in this situation he was used to give his team tv time

This is the scenario that would get me to give up on the NFL.

Maybe I'm old fashioned but I am a fan the team that represents where I am from or the franchise closest to it.

Sure I enjoy watching the skill sets of star player but I don't root for their teams. I am first and foremost invested in my city or region.

The NBA is not fun to watch and it must be miserable being a fan a team in a smaller city that won't attract an All Star team of starters.

I went from being a die-hard basketball and NBA fan, to absolutely despising the league and having zero interest whatsoever. The NBA just sucks now... the days of Jordan, Clyde the Glide, Hakeem the Dream, etc... are long gone.

Unfortunately, Goodell’s NFL has been trending in the same direction for a number of years

It is DUMB and a bad precedent, when you begin to allow non-management level employees feel like they can make management decisions, or hold owners and management hostage, because they whine. In my career and for every company I have ever been employed by, if I would have made an attempt to have input on change in management, I would not be working today. And if NFL teams allow this sort of thing to continue to grow, it will be disastrous. You are an employee. You want to manage? Retire, seek a management level position, or better yet, buy a company/team and enjoy yourself and take all the risks. Pretty simple. But none will. They do not have the balls, to risk THEIR money!

What really makes this so ridiculous, is if say a NFL team allows a decision, or allows a player to influence a hire/decision to be made and that turns out to be a bad move, who is going to take the heat? Not the player, that is for damn sure! He’ll still be collecting his millions.

If you’re asking if I side with players vs nfl execs - it’s going to be players every time
Why? I don’t understand it. Have you ever attended and paid for a game ticket, to any pro sport? I am betting, a big NO!

I haven't watch one full game for 20 years.
