What a forking bad arse. America lost a legend.

When I drive into work in downtown Houston I always pass by a mural of famous black Houstonians, and his image (IMHO) looms largest.

I had the privilege of being seated at a table at a work dinner a few years ago at a dinner, and the guy was as salt of the earth as you could get. Had the personality of a person I would have grown up with, and while mostly everyone at our table had far greater wealth than him (and me for that matter) none of them could hold a candle to him, or carry a conversation with each person like he could.

RIP to Big George! If y'all haven't seen When We Were Kings (the documentary about the Rumble in the Jungle), it's on Netflix at the moment. If you would've told someone at the time that mean old George Foreman would one day be everybody's lovable grandfather, I'm sure they wouldn't have believed you. The documentary spends a lot of time w/ Ali's camp/tells the story from Ali's perspective, but is sympathetic towards Foreman. If you like documentaries/boxing/Ali/Foreman or any combination, maybe give it a watch.
