As much as I would love to retain Rizzi as STC, the risk of having him on the staff (especially with a young 1st-time HC) outweighs the reward.

I think Sean/Mickey broke up over Drew returning in 2020. Payton had Tom Brady ready to take over. When Brees unretired, Mickey/Gayle should have blocked Brees and told him it's over. By retaining Brees, they setup Payton for disaster and disrespected him. They basically told him they were more loyal to players than the coaches. When that happened, Payton knew he would never win another Super Bowl in New Orleans. It was the day the music died.

This is just another indicator that it’s Moore. No way Riz was going to come back as anything but head coach. I wish him well. He’s the best ST coach in the game snd he gave it his all as the interim HC.
