Another reason fo move on from Allen ASAP
Really good indicator that staff/organization is not the right one---players leave or allowed to leave and flourish once gone to another team. Coaches either can't recognize potential talent, wrong position, poor judgement of talent.Really makes you wonder if we are really that bad at drafting, or are we that bad at developing and/or figuring out proper roles for our players.

We needed a qb to keep the superbowl window alive and that’s what we didHendrickson is leading the league in sacks, and Eliss is balling for the Falcons.
Meanwhile, the Saints are 2 and 7 and 89 million over the cap for next year.
Great post, last week it was Winston, this week it’s BaunSo I'm not defending the organisation, but I am going to point out that this thread seems to have appeared because Baun, a LB, made a pick off a tipped pass. That's his one pick in 8 games.
The last time a Baun thread appeared, it was because he made two sacks in a game. Those are his only two sacks after 8 games.
What I'm saying here is that people have an unhealthy habit of jumping on every little thing an ex-Saint does as evidence we've let a clear cut All Pro leave the building.
Maybe time to calm that down a bit. There's plenty of fuel for our fiery pitchforks, but this ain't it.
He’s also leading the eagles in tackles with 79, the next closest player has 60. Baun has been arguably their best defensive player this year.So I'm not defending the organisation, but I am going to point out that this thread seems to have appeared because Baun, a LB, made a pick off a tipped pass. Well said. I have no clue how he couldn't figure out how to make Baun work. Everyone else knew it, God knows how many threads there were on it. He refused to see common sense and tried to make him an off the ball linebacker. It was only after Ellis's success that the light finally clicked but by then it was too late.Allen is a scheme coach, not a player coach.
Allen couldn’t care less how good a player is if they aren’t good at running his scheme. He’s not going to alter his gameplan to help or fit a player’s skill set. He keeps the players that operate well in his scheme and lets walk those who do not.
Some of the players he’s let leave have thrived in other teams because those teams recognized the talent and put them in positions to succeed.

I knew someone would bring that up, and that’s why I included his stats for added context.
79 tackles at midseason is pretty darn impressive in of itself.
