Being that it is "off-season" and a slow time of year, I figured out this thread would not be considered spam. I pretty much never start a thread, but I thought some people might find this interesting.

I have been cleaning out our house (moving my parents to another home) that my parents have lived in for the last 15 years. When they moved here they moved from their home where they had lived since 1966. While going through mountains of junk, I ran across a few Saints gems.

Two sets of original 1967 Saints Doubloons which have a doubloon for each opponent during the year. Two original 1967 "I'm in that number!" Saints Season ticket holder stickers, and the prize of the memorabilia, a signed 1967 team photo, which has many,if not all, autographs. I'm not sure if the players actually signed this or if it is a photo of the signed team photo. It appears as though I can see pen marks.

Pretty cool stuff. I will get some frames made and have it set up to put on the wall. Just thought some people might be interested.

I'll try to see if I can post some pics later. I'm kind of beat from hauling junk out of attics in Louisiana heat today.

I was able to resize the photo files to attach.

Old Saints stuff - I love it. I remember my grandmother had about half-a-dozen old game programs from that 1967 season. I'd love to know what happened to them.

Mind if I share those pics at my websites? The URLs are in my signature below.

I have an autographed picture signed by the Saints' first overall pick in franchise history. He was the first ever draft choice of the Saints, taken with the final pick of the first round in 1967. The Saints originally had the #1 overall pick in that draft, but traded it to the Baltimore Colts for quarterback Gary Cuozzo. The Colts selected Michigan State All-America defensive end Bubba Smith with the traded pick.

Sure, no problem.

I love that they started putting the '67 on some of the newer Saints merchandise. I was born in 1967 so it gives it twice the meaning when I wear it.

Hold onto that old team photo and doubloon set like your life depended on it! It's rare indeed to have "genuine old Saints stuff." I have several laser-jet printouts of old photos and such, but nothing like what you found. The oldest genuine article I have is that curiously popular comic book that came out after the 1987 playoff season. Bought it at Nicholson & Loup grocery store, if anyone else remembers that long-gone store brand.

Very cool stuff. Thanks for sharing. Looks like you struck gold to me.

That doubloon set is sweet.

That would be a great thing to bring back into the making. Especially playoff doubloons.

I think I would step on some little kids hands to get these nowadays.

Sorry kids. It's nothing personal, just business.

I don't plan to get rid of them. I have two sets of doubloons. They have never even been out of their plastic sleeves. "Uncirculated" haha. I just opened the plastic sleeves they are in and the plastic has that "new" plastic smell. I want to frame the picture and put it on the wall, but I'm worried it will fade. It sure looks like real signatures on the photo, but not sure. I'll probably scan it and display the copy.

We have had seats since 1967 and my dad was friends with a guy who was really connected with the ticket office, so you never know if the autographs are real or a photo. The window stickers are cool. I wonder if there's a way to make replica stickers. I think they are pretty unique.

No idea how much old Saints stuff we threw out over the years. Probably mountains of stuff. Makes me a little sad. My dad's not a "collector" of sports memorabilia but he did seem to "collect" his old cancelled checks and bank statements for the last couple of decades. :)
