In my first edition of the Saints mock draft series for 2024, I included a trade scenario where the Saints received an additional second-round pick to select another dynamic playmaker on offense. However, with the first two picks, they are used to address the offensive line. Enjoy!!

I would take that any year. But I would never bet on it happening.

JC's feet are so slow he's more of a tackle IMO.

Guyton will go in the 1st after the senior bowl/combine.

In the billion draft sims I've done, I've selected Latham and Guyton a bunch of times. If it worked out like that, I'd be happy. Though I really would like to have Bowers as well.

I wouldn’t be upset with those two picks but I’ll be amazed if we trade back. Haven’t seen that in many many moons.

I know it’s impossible but I’d sure love to have a premium tackle, premium edge and Bowers. Not happening I know but one can dream.

Bowers.

I know tackle is a big need, but I want punishing guards like Nicks and Jahri. If Carr has a place to step up into, it might be easier to cover up the tackles deficiencies. And those premium guards can be had a little later.

Oh I’d love to have guards like that again. Sadly I don’t think that will happen again in my lifetime, best tandem ever imo and yes I watched the hogs too.

We really only have one guard position available with Ruiz locked in at RG.

Hopefully they move Penning to LG.

I'm fine with it so long as we take proven players. I tired of seeing us go after these small school project guys or often injured guys in the early rounds. So far Penning, Payton, & Davenport have not panned out for 3 1st round picks.

Never seen a sports writer predict something I would like .... had me till the pick for 48 .....

Yeah thay would be nice, but I just don't see JC still there at 17 nor Guyton at 45.
@DerrickB why did you choose Jacksonville as a trade partner?

I can't get behind the Latham pick. On the absolute biggest play of your college career you get destroyed so badly that you actually make the game winning tackle for the other team.
And I know what you're thinking......you can't judge a player on 1 play. But yes you certainly can. This is the basis of how all players should be judged. This is the biggest play of your career. Your job was literally to set the right side and just stalemate the end. That's all. The play wasn't even coming your way. And you literally got bulldozed and manhandled so bad that you legit tackled Jalen Milroe to lose the game.
Everything you did all season........led up to that one moment and you failed on a level that could haunt you mentally forever. That is a red flag. I'm not touching him. Plus he's a right tackle. The value of offensive lineman in the first round is low tier to begin with. Let alone a RT that blew it when it counted most.

I had several offers when I was using the simulator. I felt as though Jacksonville presented the best one. The rest of the deals involved the Saints moving too deep in the first round.
