My, how the mighty have fallen. And hard! Finishing last place in a division is bad but to finish dead last in a trash division like that of the NFC South?? Embarrassing.

This year has been one of the worst years as a Saints fan, in my opinion. Yes, there have been worse seasons however, the Saints never reached the height of a Super Bowl before so we as fans never knew what winning was like. We were used to losing. Now that we have had a taste of success and winning a Super Bowl, everything else after that is failure. The remaining Payton years were fun and they had success. I always thought they could win a game. Now, I just hope they don't lose.

And the game yesterday did what the Saints always do: give you a little bit of hope just to have it dashed away by stupidity. I am so disappointed in Foster Moreau. For him to be at the stand last week talking about how every game matters and then turn around in the Bucs game only to get a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty for jawing with the Bucs on the sideline and then flipping the ball at the guy? Stupid and undisciplined.

Meanwhile, the Saints former coach has taken the Broncos in two short years to the playoffs while the Saints continue to spiral out of control.

Yeah, the 2024 Saints sucked and were not fun at all. I just hope that they will do a full reset and rebuild. They need to.........

At least the fans had two weeks of glory at the top of the heap going into Week 3.
For a brief time it was an amazing season! :9:

Did we finish third or fourth? The question is largely academic, though it does matter with draft position (which I care about) and scheduling (which I do not care about). Did we officially finish fourth though Carolina is drafting ahead of us?

I want to see any team lose it's QB1, WR1, WR2, RB1, RB2, C1, and Taysom (all at one time) for large stretches of the season and be fun. We were completely devoid of talent at nearly every key position on offense. No doubt it was an abysmal season that was difficult to watch at times, but it's not like our planned starters stunk it up. We were pretty much fielding a pre-season squad on offense for much of the season.

Yes. The tiebreaking procedures are different for division ranking and for draft order.

For division ranking, the league had to go all the way to the fifth tiebreaker to give Carolina the edge--higher strength of victory (.329 vs .306).

For draft order, the first tiebreaker gave Carolina the edge--easier strength of schedule (.498 vs .505).

This seems to be our excuse everry year since Drew left!

Saints finished 4th in the NFC South.
Carolina picks ahead of us in the draft due to the Strength of Schedule formula.
The tiebreaker used in the divisions is different. So our team finished last this year.

(Edit: I didn't see the @Rouxble post above.)

Detroit is fielding a preseason Defense and just beat their 14-2 division rival so thereā€™s thatšŸ˜•

Not surprising at all, given the 2 years of play before this season. Hiring, and keeping Dennis Allen for a 3rd season, was one of the dumbest things Loomis has done.

This is what has to happen to truly embrace a rebuild, which appears to be what the fans want, including myself.

Next year probably isn't going to be any better either but again, that seems to be what we need to go through to really start fresh.

It will be tough but I'm on board.
