Everybody seems to give the Rams no chance on Sunday. But the 49ers despite there 5-2 record this year, have not blown anybody out on the road at all. The Rams as bad as they have been will like nothing more then to stick to there NFC West rivals.

1.Bengals W 13-8
2.Eagles W 24-23
3.Lions W 25-19
4.Redskins W19-11
5.Ravens L 6-16
6.Cardinals L 19-21
7.Seahawks W 19-17

They have been held to under 20 points 5 times and scored only 8 total TD's. They have scored 23 TD's at home and been over 20 points at every game.

Good post, but the Rams are inept at Home.

Rams @Home: 14.5 points per game
San Fran on Road: 17.8 points per game

If you subtract our game at the Rams they score 11.5 points per game. Given that their best player is a RB, something the 49ers shut down, I'm not very optimistic....but it is the NFL, at least that's what I'm hanging my hat on.:hihi:

The OP makes a very good point....its not like Sean Payton risk playing his starters.....but the 9rs are not a good scoring team....here's one of the most likely scenarios....4th qt, 9rs up by 6.....16 to 10....what would Sean Payton do?

Isn't that quite obvious?.....of course the starters will play to the end. No question about it...

IMO we mite aswell brace to face either the Lions or Failcons 1nce again n the 1st round. B4 monday nite I was worried about the possibility of having to play ATL 3 times but now I really dont think they hav anything for us n the Supadome. Ofcourse the Lions hav a better offense but again we will b n the dome for whomeva wants to endure another a$$draggin. This team can very well beat SanFran n Candlestick. They hav yet to face n offensive machine like us. We just gotta show up wit fire n our bellies

Rams at this point are phoning it in. Their coach is as good as gone. I hope they pull it off but I just don't see it happening.

I can't even read this crap

Let's see, at stake is what some are calling the most valuable pick in the history of the draft
Even Herm Edwards would say
You play to win the draft pick

The 49ers are the worst (potential) 13 win #2 seed in the history of the NFL. (If there is such a thing)

They have feasted off of an extremely soft schedule against teams with no offense.

Besides the early season fluke win against the Lions (a border line playoff team) and a Steelers team with a one-legged Big Ben... who have they played and beaten?

The 49ers signature wins this year include a 1 point win against a floundering Eagles team, that 6 point debacle againts the Lions, a 7 point win against an up and down Gaints team, and that Monday night win against a one legged Big Ben lead Steelers squad.

They rest of their schedule consisted of the Bucs (thier best win), Browns, their division games (a joke), a rookie lead Bengals team, and the Redskins.

They are gonna get destroyed in the playoffs. At the end of the day... thier defense is pretty good... but Alex Smith is still Alex Smith.

We all knew that Rams game was gonna come back and bite us in the ***. The fact that it's the 49ers that are reaping the benefit of that... really ****** me off.
