Video A good analysis of how the Pels use Hawk and why he is an advanced player for a rookie. Worth a watch. *Also a discussion of Pels money situation* (1 Viewer)

Hawkins got slammed after his dismal summer league showing bit his development is going to make CJ expendable after his contract is up. I hate to say that, but unless CJ gives a massive discount we will need that money to keep the young talent we have

Well, something is going to have to happen. We have Trey (and JV!) coming up next and we can't afford to let that amount of talent go. Big $$$. If we let JV go, then we need to find another center at a probable greater cost than JV or lesser talent. Can we afford to lose either of those guys?

Your point about CJ is a really good one. But the other side of that coin is that CJ is a good shooter (probably our most consistant one) and a great font of knowlege/leadership for the team. What do we lose without him and can we afford to lose those intangibles?

Hawk is going to be a top shooter and his growth potential is unlimited. He is already ahead of where Trey was in his rookie year (imo). Can we afford to lose that talent?

So, some very tough decisions coming up. But it is a good situation to be in and shows our general success in finding and developing young talent.

I don't know how they avoid the luxury tax.
