A good, yet frustrating, riveting, yet head scratching win (1 Viewer)

I look at this game today a variety of ways. First and foremost I'm always glad when the Saints win but I'm frustrated because this is what I thought we'd see for the majority of the season like I'm sure most of the true Saints fans did. Barring those two late scores by the Bucs the Saints defense was almost awesome. They should have gotten more sacks in my opinion.

The Offense did what they had to do. What I was most impressed with is the Offensive Line in pass protection. Dare I say Ramzyck not playing with a bad knee is addition by subtraction? Carr deserves praise too because he made the right calls when he had to. Again, this another frustrating thing. There should have been more consistency with this during the season.

Finally, the obvious. This win almost assures that Dennis Allen will be back next season which I'm sure doesn't please some Saints fans. I'm not so hot about it either but the fact is the Saints are in a somewhat meaningful game against their most hated rivals in the Falcons. We'll see if we can get luck on our sides for a change and actually win this division.

This team is SOOOO frustrating. Lol. Can play with anyone and can sure lose to anyone. I miss the consistency.

Absolutely we did. Starting trying to run out the clock with completely non-productive runs all the way back in the third quarter

Beating a team that just came off a run to take the division who clearly had their foot off the gas knowing they only had to put in minimal effort next week too. That’s two weeks of vanilla planning Tampa will have to cruise into the playoffs. How much did Tampa blitz or run stunts on our offensive line early ?
These are the kind of wins Allen pounds his chest over and Carr pumps up his meaningless stats on. Allen knew the kind of effort Tampa was going to put in too that’s why he was so cocky all week.
The Saints aren’t going to the playoffs this season or any as long as he is here. Win next week or not.

It's the most Saints thing ever, of course it happens this way.

Tampa loses to Carolina and we lose to Atlanta, Tampa backs into the playoffs.

i agree it’s really how I thought we would play this year. Beat average to bad teams by 7-10 points. That would make us 13-3 going into this last game lol jk

The Bucs came into the dome earlier in the season and torched the defense and the offense couldn’t do anything against them.

It’s expected that the opposite would happen today which is what ended up happening. Unsurprising victory IMO. This is how it usually happens when it’s two division opponents that are pretty much on the same level as each other.

Next week the same thing will happen against the Falcons. Whatever the Saints didn’t do well the first time they will do well this time and come out with WIN.
