Adrian Peterson praises Drew Brees for his work ethic, conditioning: 'He's the truth'

"There's one person that when you asked that question that stood out immediately," the 33-year-old Peterson said when asked if he has played with anybody who surpassed his work ethic. "It was Drew Brees.
"Being up there in New Orleans just for that short period of time, and just seeing him, man, I'm talking about clockwork. You see this guy out on the field two hours before practice and he's going through his fundamentals. He's in the weight room. He's lifting. He's cut up. The funny thing is once we did our conditioning test, that's probably the first time I ever lost a conditioning test."

Although Payton said he would "absolutely" consider brining Peterson back to the Saints should the team need another veteran running back, Peterson said he has no immediate prospects to join a team, although he does intend to play somewhere in 2018.

I don't see any hatred from this guy. If wants to come back I say why not? If anything just for guidance for Alvin, and Boston. If he not longer has it cut him during camp.

The bigger point is what he said about the GOAT. And it should be of no surprise to anyone.

Well tell me who hasn't praise Drew Brees? Every players that played or have connection with Brees, have nothing but great things to say. Brees is genuine in his image. He is not out there making himself look good. He is great in itself.

IT's not clear, though, that Payton feels he can trust him to accept a lesser role. I doubt that 'the glare' has been forgotten.

Thing is we struggled with how to use AP. We were clearly a better team after he left, and thats no slight on the guy. Some players and teams just arent a good fit.

I’m just saying, of all the people he could’ve picked, including people he played with for a decade...he chose to name Brees. I mean it’s something we all knew already. But it’s still high praise

At first I was wanting to bring in either him or Demarco Murray, but now I don’t think it’s necessary. I think we will see Alvin Kamara get the bulk of the carries with Boston Scott getting in there so he can rest. Boston Scott isn’t just a typical scat back. Like Sproles he can run between the tackles pretty effectively.

Not having Ingram for the first 4 games may be a blessing in disguise. It will allow us to put Kamara in the starting spot without ruffling any feathers with Ingram. It will allow Boston Scott to get more touches than he possibly would with Ingram available, so he can get acclimated to the league. And lastly we will have a healthy roaring to go Mark Ingram going into our 5th game. Trey Edmunds will likely be the 3rd guy to get a carry or 2 if needed. Now if Scott struggles in camp/preseason and/or we get hit with an injury then I might want to look elsewhere

Yea one thing people may not know about Scott is that even though he’s little, dude is powerful!! Had something like 25 reps with 225 and had videos of him squatting over 600 pounds. This kid ain’t your average little guy

Right now Jonathan Williams is the second back out on the field in OTAs, not Boston or Edmunds.

'The glare' was never a thing from the perspective of Payton and Peterson. It was just a big deal with media and fans.

OOOOk but does that mean anything? Maybe he’s that third back instead of Edmunds. I would hope now that both Williams & Edmunds are ahead of a rookie in Boston Scott. It wasn’t like Scott was a 1st or 2nd rounder. I think it would take him sometime to get acclimated to a NFL practice and what not

It meant something inasmuch as you didn't mention him once in your run down, and right now he's out there with the twos.

Yeah I think Williams will get the most carries over the first four games, after Kamara. Got a feeling Kamara/Williams might be the future lightning/thunder.
