Dear Mickey,

I am writing this letter to express my sincere gratitude for your years of service to the Saints. Your leadership, dedication, and hard work have been instrumental in the team's success, and I am proud to be a fan of this team.

After Hurricane Katrina, against All Odds & expectations, you found an amazing coach and a hall-of-fame quarterback. It was your persuasiveness that convinced Tom Benson to hire Sean Payton instead of Ray Rhodes.

As a resident of New Orleans, I have seen firsthand the impact that the team has had on our city. The team has brought us together and given us something to cheer for, and for that, we are grateful.

We finally looked forward to Sundays & we no longer hung our head as we went to work on Monday. Your leadership and strategic salary cap planning allowed us to stay competitive for many years and avoid the dreaded “Cap Hell”.

However, as we enter a new era of football, I believe it is important to ensure that the team is headed in the right direction. Therefore, on behalf of the city of New Orleans, I would like to respectfully request that you recuse yourself. This will allow the team to move forward with a fresh perspective and new ideas, which will ultimately benefit the team and its fans. Your name and legacy will remain intact.

Once again, thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to the Saints & Benson family. I wish you the absolute best in all of your future endeavors.

Sincerely,
A proud fan
