I’ll never understand why someone would even get a dog if you’re not going to take care of it. I’m probably on the extreme side in most peoples opinion, but my dogs are very much family members. I treat them and will defend them as such. They are spoiled rotten, and we don’t do many things that they are not allowed to do with us. Animal abusers are no better than child abusers in my eyes.

Cruelty to dogs... disgusting
Beyond.
Do the same to him. I HATE people who mistreat animals.
There are no words to describe my hatred for folks who do this. None.

I will murder over my dogs. They're more family than family, to me, and I couldn't care less who understands that or who doesn't.

If only we treated each other with the same type of love we treat animals, this world would be a 1000% better.
It's pretty much the same, actually.
People who treat their animals with great respect usually treat other people with great respect, too, while people who mistreat, neglect, abuse, or use animals for profit usually treat other human beings with the same disdain. That's not 100%, of course, nothing is when it comes to human behaviour, but it's certainly the trend I've noted in my experience.

My ex-wife and I noticed a pit bull in our old neighborhood was chained up under a neighbor's deck in the middle of February (very cold in NoVA) all day for multiple days. His water dish was frozen solid and there was no food. She brought him both and she called it in but never heard the outcome. Likely not much, I suspect.

It's definitely a sign of one's lack of empathy and compassion. If you can't/don't want to care for a family member, don't adopt one just to look cool to your friends. Lock this dude up (won't happen).

Anyone who puts/leaves a dog on a chain for any length of time is a piece of sheet. Period point blank. I hope that dog got lucky and was adopted by a good family, realize that's a long shot tho.
