Any truth to the rumor that Dish is testing CST on channel 421 in the New Orleans area? A buddy told me they were but all of the TV listing sites have some Chicago regional on that channel. I don't necessarily want to leave DirecTV but Cox Sports is worth the trouble of changing.

I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but I heard about it too. The schedule feature on the box usually lags on updates like this.

My understanding is that, if it is true, it's brand new (as of the last 48 hours). It is supposedly "spot beamed" from the satellite to the area bounded roughly by Lake Charles, Alexandria, Jackson, and Mobile, meaning if you are outside of that area, you might be out of luck (see the map below).

I checked Dish's website this morning for any info and didn't see anything official.

No 421 for me as of right now. 416 is the closest.

I liked dish networks hd dvr much much better than the directv piece of junk.
Can you record through your OTA antanae with the Dish DVR? before DirecTV offered local HD channels we could still use our DVR to record local HD programming. In fact, DTV offering local HD's had no real benefit for me.
