Assuming the Panthers will select either Young or Stroud, who are you hoping they select?

I am hoping they take Young.

My reasons:

1. He’s 5’10,” so he’d be bucking history if he is elite in the NFL at that height.

2. He’s been playing on an all star team in college that is almost always significantly more talented on offense than the defense Alabama was facing.

3. I only watch LSU and the Saints. When he played LSU last season, you could see in his eyes that he was scared, and he played like his eyes looked.

Disclaimer: I was happy that KC traded ahead of us to take Mahomes, because WWL was saying that we were going to take him if he was there when we selected and I was with the large consensus of Saints and NFL fans at the time that Lattimore would be a better pick than a Texas Tech quarterback with a losing record. Texas Tech had a history of QBs who put up big statistics in college and didn’t amount to much in the NFL. Obviously, Andy Reid and Sean Payton were much better at scouting quarterbacks than the TV guys and most of the NFL.

They’re picking Stroud. I’ve seen so many mocks with them choosing Richardson or Young but they already decided. I think Young is the next Drew Brees so I’m glad they’re going with Stroud. Stroud will be good but I don’t see him as a top 5-8 QB.

Young is just really intelligent and will pick apart a defense.

I’m with you. Young throws such a soft, slow ball. And he was throwing to wide open players a lot. I don’t think he’s got the rocket he’ll need for NFL tight windows.

Not sure where this narrative of Alabama having great receiving core is coming from.

Young had nothing like recent Alabama QBs. Heck often times their best receiving threat was Gibbs.

I hope they take stroud personally. Young is more battle tested playing in the SEC and he didn’t have a great receiving core last year like people keep saying lol. There also hasn’t been one Ohio St. QB that has ever amounted to anything so Stroud is fighting history. Justin fields is still pending currently, but I think Bryce has the it factor and will adjust faster. Stroud was the one throwing to first round WRs his whole career at Ohio St. Olave, Wilson, JSN is going first round this year and Marvin Harrison jr next year. Gibbs was arguably WR1 at in bama last year lol.

Yeah if he puts on 15 pounds he will be a major headache. I’d rather face stroud for years to come. I’d also like to see bryce with Demeco in houston so I don’t have to hate him lol.

Since my wife is a Gator, I've watched a lot of Richardson playing.

And as a Saints fan, I really hope the Panthers draft him.

It’ll be Stoud, I’m fairly confident in that. Id hope they take Young. There is no way I take a 5’10 190lb (he doesn’t play at 204) QB that high. Like the kid, but with as big and fast as the NFL is he’s not gonna make it past season 3.
