Another chapter in the Cinderella story of Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner could be written today if the Cardinals defeat the Philadelphia Eagles and reach Super Bowl XLIII.
The Cardinals have never played in the Super Bowl, but they also never had a player that had a career that most movie directors would say is not realistic.
The beginning of Warner’s NFL career has roots in south Louisiana. Joe Clark, a Mathews resident who coached for more than 40 years in high school, college, the United States Football League, the World Football League, NFL and NFL Europe, was at the ground level when Warner got his start in the NFL.
Clark, since retired from coaching, says that an old coaching buddy recommended Warner to him when he was the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach for the Amsterdam Admirals in 1997.
