This week in Atlanta, NBC evening news has been followed by a half-hour LIII update with a couple of local anchors.
What's shaping up to be an excitement-free game (and crowd) has been evident each night so far, with this evening's lowlight coming from Hartsfield airport, the world's busiest.
Surrounded by cheerless volunteer greeters, a bubbly reportergal stood in the airport atrium atop a large football field prop, polling passersby on their "whoo" or "boo" opinion of the upcoming game.
Respondents were about even on her tickerboard, until two guys rolled by with their luggage and glowered, "we don't care about the game, we're Saints fans". Kind of threw the newslady off her stride.
Segment ended with "boo"s leading, which jibed with intro coverage that 44% of Americans don't care who wins or loses Sunday. Rog can't be happy about that.
Good.
